What We Believe

God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit

Slide1
God is Creator, He is One-but also three: Father, Spirit, and Son. He is Sovereign (meaning “over-all”).
Jesus Christ is God in the flesh and therefore 100% God but also God’s only Son who was in the beginning and will be in the end.  Jesus came to earth taking on human flesh, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect sinless life, and died on a cross as the final sacrifice for all sin.  He rose from the dead, defeating death and making it so that anyone who believes He is the Christ will live eternally in heaven with Him.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God who comes to live within the heart of every believer at the point of their conversion.  He provides us with counsel, direction, spiritual gifts, and also helps us live in a way that is pleasing to God so that we can help others come to know God’s Son, Jesus.

Salvation

Slide1
Scripture teaches that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).  Sin is defined as “anything we do that goes against the person and nature of God.”   It’s the mark of being human and why we need Jesus who alone can fix the problem of sin in our lives making us right with God.

Salvation is an act of God’s love and grace, a free gift to anyone who chooses to believe that Jesus is God’s Son.  When you put your faith in Jesus as Savior you will be saved.

Baptism

Baptism is a command from Jesus.  We believe that baptism is an act of obedience to Christ.  We practice immersion recognizing that when you enter the water you are burying your old self and when you rise from the water you are claiming your new life in Christ.
