Sunday Worship

At Impact, we strive to be a safe place where all people can connect with God.  One of the most powerful ways to connect with God is through worship. Worship is simply “celebrating who God is and what He is doing!”   On Sundays, we gather  at 10:30 a.m. to worship together.

Our goal is to keep the worship service to about 1 hour and 15 min.  In the service you will enjoy contemporary worship music, you will hear relevant Biblical teaching, and you will have an opportunity to take part in Communion and Offering.  At Impact, we celebrate communion weekly as we remember Jesus Christ and his sacrifice.  We also see offering as a way to worship God, to give back to what He is doing in the community and in the kingdom; but we remind our church family that offering is “not about the money” it’s about your heart and your willingness to give back to God through not just money, but also your time and talents as well.

If you are interested in being a part of the worship service on Sundays contact Pastor Bob or Lorraine.

Small Groups

We firmly believe that “big things happen in small groups.”  Our small groups meet at a variety of locations and are composed of a unique blend of people who are choosing to walk through life with one another.

Although weekly worship is a key part of our lives as Christ-followers, it is in small groups that you are able to develop deeper and more meaningful relationships while you learn about one another, pray for each other, and study God’s Word together.

Small groups generally run through the school year kicking off in September and wrapping up for the summer around May.  Small groups meet every other week and last a little longer than an hour.  If you would like more information about the specific groups available as well as dates and times, feel free to talk to Pastor Bob or Lorraine.

Youth Ministry

In a world that is constantly changing and proposing new challenges, we strive to provide an environment for our youth that is fun and inviting as well as  relevant and life-changing.  Our main programming for our youth is on Monday nights from 6-8 p.m. where we gather to eat, hang-out, have fun, and learn together.  Our goal is to empower our youth with the knowledge and understanding necessary to be disciples, make disciples, and provide positive God-honoring change in our world.
We provide opportunities for our students to get together with other students their own age through the CONNECT Christian Camp & Retreat Center where we participate in Winter Camp and Summer Camp.

On Sundays we encourage our high school students to worship with their families.  There is a class available for students in 5th-8th grade during the 10:30am service following the communion/offering time.

Children’s ministry

At Impact we recognize the importance of providing a safe place for children to connect with God.  It’s not only important to the spiritual growth of each child, but it is also important to each parent as they entrust their children to our trained volunteers on a weekly basis.  We do our best to provide that safe place for each child by having a process our volunteers go through which includes an application, background check, and training.

For our children, on Sundays, we have volunteers in our nursery during our worship service to care for all children from birth through age 3.  Once your child is potty trained AND 3 years old, we encourage them to join our Pre-K class.   We have Sunday school classes for children starting with Pre-K and ending at 4th grade.

On Monday nights from 6-8 p.m. we also  have youth group for students in grades 1-5.

Our goal is to teach our children biblical truth that is age-appropriate and relevant and help them determine how to use what they are learning in their daily lives.

Community Events

Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations and in that same statement He told us to begin with our own community.  Impact’s desire is to BE the hands and feet of Jesus in Merrillville and Northwest Indiana.

On a daily basis we are working to meet the numerous physical needs of people in our community in order that we may have a chance to share with them about spiritual things.

We have been blessed to be the host site for the Merrillville Community School Corporation’s summer feeding program for the last 4 years, providing breakfast and lunch to all children 18 and younger.

Impact hosts a Summer tutoring program for Elementary Students to help prepare for the new school year.

Other community events include:
Our Easter Eggstravaganza,  cook outs,  Bread Distribution, Trunk or Treat – Fall Event, hosting NW Indiana Young Life Events, hosting the Mobile Food Pantry,  The Merrillville 4th of July Parade, providing Meals for the Feed the Flock Ministry, while sharing our weekly Bread Distribution with other Centers to  also aid their neighborhoods.

One of our favorite events each year is our “Back to School Block Party” where we give away school supplies, backpacks, clothing, and food while connecting with the people in the community where we have been planted!

For more information about ways to get involved in serving the community contact  Pastor Bob.
